The Difference Between Saturated and Unsaturated Fat

Here we have it. The difference between saturated and unsaturated fat. Conventional wisdom is that saturated fat is unhealthy, raises bad cholesterol and is a marker for heart disease.

Unsaturated fat, however, will help you live past 100 and is perfectly healthy. Here is what the NHS website says: Eating too much saturated fat can raise bad LDL cholesterol in your blood which can increase the risk of heart disease.

Regretfully, they neglect to mention how this happens, probably because it can’t and the cynic in me wonders if the bosses of the drug companies that sell the NHS 2 billion pounds of Statins a year, would get upset. It is true that many foods that contain cholesterol also contain saturated fats, but it is a biochemical impossibility for saturated fat to raise blood cholesterol levels.

In addition, many dieticians and doctors would submit that eating cholesterol also does not raise cholesterol levels, since if you consume it, your liver produces less.Similarly, if a man injects his buttocks with testosterone, his body will produce less and nut shrinkage occurs.

I have some interesting study results to reveal tomorrow to further indicate that saturated fat is not harmful.
